SCRIPTURES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 12.2.2018

DESTINATION HEAVEN: ARE YOU INVITED IN?

Pastor Johnson’s message came from John 14:5-6, Hebrews 11:13-16, Revelation 21:15-23, Revelation 21:7-8, Revelation 22:1-5, Revelation 22:14-15, and Matthew 4:17. The subject was “Destination Heaven: Are You Invited In” with the following subtopics:

“Finding the Way Home”

Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, IN A CHURCH?

“Beyond Earth”

These men of faith I have mentioned died without ever receiving all that God had promised them; but they saw it all awaiting them on ahead and were glad, for they agreed that this earth was not their real home but that they were just strangers visiting down here. And quite obviously when they talked like that, they were looking forward to their real home in heaven. If they had wanted tom, they could have gone back to the good things of this world. But they didn’t want to. They were living for heaven. And now God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has made a heavenly city for them. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, IN A CHURCH?

“A Place Prepared”

The one who was speaking with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall. The city is laid out as a square, its length being the same as its width; and he measured the city with his rod twelve thousand stadia (about 1400 miles); its length and width and height are equal. He measured its wall also a hundred forty-four cubits (about 200 feet), according to man’s measurements, which are angelic. The wall was built of jasper; and the city was pure gold, transparent like clear crystal. The foundation stones of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald, the fifth, sardonyx,; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each separate gate was of one single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent crystal. I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and the Lamb is its lamp and light. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE IN A CHURCH?

Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer exist anything that is cursed; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve and worship Him. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, IN A CHURCH?

“Accepted Servant Rejected Sinner”

Blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? IF NOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, IN A CHURCH?

“The Only Way”

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, Repent change your inner self-your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS/ IF NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, IN A CHRUCH?

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
