PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE (07/03/2016)

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Thu, Jul 7, 2016

"IN OUR OWN SIGHT"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Proverbs 3:1-8, Romans 10:1-10, and 1 Corinthians 3:16-23.  The topic was “In Our Own Sight” with the following sub topics:

“Commandments over Vanity”

God requires our commandments. Everybody is not living a worthy life. Some go through changes. If you obey his commandments, you will have peace and tranquility. You have to shut off the negative and put in the positive. You have to change your heart. Be merciful to others and keep that in your heart. Lean on and be confident in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean unto your own understanding. Lean on God and He will direct your path. Be not wise in your eyes. Fear the Lord and depart from evil. Obedient to the Lord words will lead to good health for you. Live according to God’s word; the opposite is destruction.

“Understanding Salvation”

We all have zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. They have rejected God. The law brings you to Jesus and shows you right from wrong. If we want to change our way, we have to accept Christ fully. We cannot be saved by our own efforts. God’s word is on your lips and in your heart. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, that God raised Him from the dead and you shall be saved. You should be able to tell the world you are a Christian by your actions. When you turn your life over to Christ, you will be content in any situation.

 “Knowing Who You Are”

The spirit of God dwells in you. When we disobey his commandments or corrupt his temple, God will destroy you. The temple of God is holy and sacred to Him. Do not let any corrupt thing get inside your temple. Don’t lie to yourself. Don’t let man or the world lead you. Let God and the words of God be your guide. Follow His Way!!

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
