PASTOR JOHNSON 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE (5/3/15)

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Mon, May 4, 2015

"SALVATION"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Psalm 85:7-13, Matthew 5:1-12, and Matthew 11:28-30. The topic was “Salvation” with the following sub topics:

“Seeking God”

Humble yourself and pray to see God’s face. Nothing belongs to you. All belong to God. You must study his words for understanding. Turn from your wicked ways. Look into the mirror and to you be true. Come to God with a sincere heart and ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you. God will hear your prayers.

“Seek Righteousness”

Ask the Lord for mercy when you are drowning in sins. Read His words and hear the Lord speaking to you. The Lord will give you peace. Be in awe of God and fear God. He created everything and has all power in his hands beyond our imagination. God has mercy and truth together. Righteousness and peace go hand in hand. You have to be connected to God. You must have righteousness to seek God. God steps and ways are the righteousness way; not our way.

 “Seeking Salvation”

Blessed are the poor in spirit. These are ones trying to seek God. Their spirit is not where it should be. Blessed are they that mourn for their sins. Blessed are the meek ones that are concern for others. Blessed are they which do hunger and go after righteousness. Bless are the merciful that show forgiveness and forbearances. God has mercy for us; so we should have mercy for others. Blessed are the pure in heart (not the evil heart; but pure in heart) for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness.

 “Invitation to Salvation”

If you look into the mirror and need salvation, Jesus said come unto me. Take my yoke upon me and obey His two greatest commandments. God will take your burdens. Seek God’s face and bring your problems to God in prayer. Stand still. God will take your burdens and give you peace and rest. Accept God’s will. God’s yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
