NOTES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S MESSAGE 3.5.2017

"DON'T GIVE UP"

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Job 1:10-22, 2:4-9, 1 Peter 5:6-11, Revelations 14:12-13, and Job 42:11-16.  The topic was “Don’t Give Up!” with the following subtopics:

 “When Trouble Comes”

The Lord asked Satan had he considered his servant, Job. God told Satan he can take away everything from Job but do not kill him. Tragedies come to all. We must experience tragedies to appreciate and know who God is. Job lost everything he had. Job humbled himself before God and worshipped Him. He understood he came into the world with nothing; and he will leave with nothing. Job understood that God gave him everything he had and it all belongs to God. He understood that God has the right to take it all when He gets ready. Through this Job did not sin or accused God of being unjust.  Bad things do happen to good people. Some things are going to be unpleasant in this life. No matter what happens, you have to trust in the Lord, hold on to his unchanging hands, and cut the rope.

“Humble Yourselves”

Whatever you are going through in this life, honor God and trust in the Lord to bring you through. God will lift you up. We are all on a journey that will last for a short while. Satan is there to destroy you. We must have Jesus to stand firm in Satan’s attacks. God will take care of you. We may suffer for a little while to let us know it was Jesus brought us through.

  “Let GOD Lift You Up”

Endure patiently every trail that comes your way. Remain firm in His words. Trust in Jesus until the end. Be obedient in His commandments. You will get your reward in the end.

“To Receive Blessings”

God is good. He blessed Job, gave Him back everything he lost and more. After this, he lived 140 years and died an old man full of life. When trouble comes, humble yourselves, let GOD lift you up to receive blessings. Don’t Give Up. Cut the rope and trust in the Lord.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
