NOTES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S 4TH SUNDAY MESSAGE (11/22/2015)

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Mon, Nov 23, 2015

"GREAT FAITH! WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT"

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Matthew 8:5-13, Hebrews 11:1-7,11,31,33-35, and 1 Peter 1:21-25.  The topic was “Great Faith! Without A Shadow of Doubt” with the following subtopics:

 “Power of the Word”

The centurion asked Jesus one time to come and heal his servant. Jesus said he would come. The centurion was a humble man.  He had the great faith that Jesus could only speak the word and his servant would be healed.  Ask yourself what kind of faith do you have? Do you have that great faith?  Jesus said those who do not have great faith and do not believe; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Since the centurion had great faith, his servant was healed that same hour. There is power in the word of God.

“Faith in the Word”

When you ask God for something, you have to believe even though we cannot see it. God will answer and hear your prayer. Abel gave the best of what he had to God. We can give God You; the new changed You. Enoch gave the testimony that pleased God by his great faith before being translated by Him. To please God, we must believe who He is and diligently seek Him. Noah was an heir of righteousness by faith. Sara received the promise because of great faith. By faith Raha did not perished when she received the spies with peace.

 “Obeying the Word”

Faith is based on death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hope is eternal life. Your faith and hope is in God. Purify your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit with a pure heart. We are born with an evil spirit. You have to be born again with a holy spirit. You are born again not corruptible but incorruptible by the word of God.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
