NOTES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S 4TH SUNDAY MESSAGE 10.28.2018

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Mon, Oct 29, 2018

"THE IMPORTANCE OF KNOWING CHRIST"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from John 3:14-16, John 11:21-26, 2 Corinthians 5:1-5, 1 Corinthians 15:53-57, 2 Corinthians 5:6-10, Revelation 20:11-15, and Revelation 21:4-5. The topic was “The Importance of Knowing Christ” with the following subtopics:

“Living Forever”

The grave is not the end. It is just a door you pass through. Do you believe and trust in Jesus as your Savior? Do you believe in Eternal Life?

“Do You Believe?”

Jesus told Martha, Your brother will rise from the dead. Jesus is the Resurrection and Life. You have to line your life up with Jesus. If you believe in the Savior and even if you die; you will never die.

 “What Will We Receive”

We will receive wonderful new bodies in heaven. These earthly bodies make us groan and sign but we will have new bodies and these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life. God has given us His Holy Spirit. The dead will be raised incorruptible. The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. Sin cannot enter the Kingdom. We each have to stand alone before God. Aim to please God, not man.

 “When You Stand Before God!”

You can’t hide from God. In Revelation, the Bible said the dead were standing before God. The Books were opened, including the Book of Life, and the dead were judged. What is your record going to read? Did you serve the Lord in spirit and truth? Did you read His Word? Each will be judged according to His deeds. Make sure you know your name is written in the Book of Life. All that is not found in the Book of Life will be thrown in the Lake of Fire.

“A New Life When I Get Home”

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will no longer be death, sorrow, anguish or pain. All things will be made new. Do You Believe This?

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
