NOTES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE (Youth Day3/1/2015)

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Mon, Mar 2, 2015

"RESPECT, LOVE, AND HONOR

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Leviticus 19:32, Proverbs 6:20-23, Mark 12:30-31 and 1 Peter 2:13-17. The topic was “Respect, Love, and Honor” with the following subtopics:

 “Respect the Elderly”

Teach your children to have respect for you, your house and others. Be careful what you do before them. You cannot do one thing and tell them not to do it. Respect your elders and fear the Lord.

“Love for Parents”

Keep thy Father’s commandment and do not forsake the law of thy Mother. Obey your Mother and Father. When you get out in the world, you will remember what is right and what is wrong. Parents let your words be words of wisdom. Children will remember there are a right way and a wrong way. Commandment is a lamp and the law is a light to guide you. God put parents in place to guide you through life.

 “Love for Self”

Respect yourself and love yourself. Love God first. If you do not love God, you cannot love yourself or others. If you don’t respect yourself, don’t expect others to respect you. Protect yourself by doing it God’s way and not your way. You will reap the benefits if you live the right way according to God. As a Christian, be a light for someone else. It is your responsibility to help others along the way so they want make mistakes you have made.

Honor ALL

Submit yourself to the law of the land. If you do wrong the law will punish you. There is no mercy or grace. Do good so others will not have anything to say against you that may be true. Honor all human beings. Love others and fear God. Let Him be the one to guide you.  Honor the King. You have a heavenly King (Jesus). You should also honor and respect the earthly President.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
