NOTES FROM PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE (8/2/2015)

Posted by: Shirley Smith on Tue, Aug 4, 2015

"JESUS IN ME"

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Micah 6:6-8, Colossians 3:12-17, James 4:7-12, and 1 John 2:24-29.  The topic was “Jesus In Me” with the following subtopics:

 “What God Requires”

What can you bring to God? Can you pay your way to God? You can only come to God through faith. God requires you to do justice, to love and have mercy, and to walk humbly with God. Obey His Words and ways and not your ways.

“What I Will Give”

As the elect (chosen) of god, put on: tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering, forbearing one another, and forgiving one another. Above all put on love. Let peace of God rule in your hearts. Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you. Give thanks and whatever you do in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.

 “What I Will Do”

Submit yourselves to God Words. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. The devil will destroy your life. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Don’t come to God with dirty hands. Cleanse your hands. Purge that sin out of your hearts. Humble yourselves. No matter what your brethren do, you do not judge or put him down. Let God be the judge. He is the only judge. Be forgiving and forbearing. Be a Christian.

“What I Will Receive”

If you do what God says, you will receive eternal life. If you obey God, you will have a seat in the Kingdom. If you disobey Him, Hell will be your home. You have to leave the world behind you and be strong enough to live according to the Word of God.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
