HIGHLIGHTS FROM PASTOR JOHNSON 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE (11/02/2014)

"CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE"

Pastor Johnson’s sermon came from Galatians 3:26-28, Psalms 1, Ephesians 6:1-4, Proverbs 13:24, Proverbs 1:7-11 and 1 John 3:18-24. The topic was “Children of Obedience” with the following subtopics:

 “Justify Believer”

When you were baptized, you became children of Jesus Christ. We, as adults, have to be an example to our children. Don’t stand with a sinner. If you realize someone is not a Christian friend leave them alone because they will draw you in. Walk in a godly manner. Meditate in God’s words day and night. The godly will prosper; but not the ungodly. Justify believers live according to God’s way

“As Children of God”

Children obey your parents. This is the right thing to do. Honor your parents.  All of you may not have both parents in the home. Make the best out of what you have. Parents bring your children to church. Parents do not spare the rod. Children obey your Mother and Father instructions. They are for your benefit. Adults teach your children and demand their respect instead of being afraid of them. Do not let others mislead you in the wrong directions. The word of God is the only directions we need. Know evil, see evil, and stay away from it. Teach your children and yourself to walk in the godly path.

 “Obey His Commandments”

Love thy neighbor not just in word; but in deed and truth. If you know you have done wrong in your heart, God knows it too. God does not dwell in an unclean temple. When you pray to God and expect to get an answer, we have to do his commandments and what is pleasing to Him. God requires that we be obedient to Him.

Please read the scriptures and be blessed!
