PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 2.3.2019

"GOD'S JUSTICE"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Luke 16:19-31, John 5:24-30, James 5:7-12, and Hosea 12:62.  The subject was “God’s Justice” with the following subtopics:

“Choose Your Destination”

Now there was a certain rich man who was habitually dressed in expensive purple and fine linen, and celebrated and lived joyously in splendor every day. And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores. He longed to eat the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores. Now it happened that the poor man died and his spirit was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom (paradise); and the rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, being in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried out, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in severe agony in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus likewise bad things; but now he is comforted here, while you are in severe agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to come over from here to you will not be able, and none may cross over from there to us. So the rich man said, Then father, I beg you to send Lazarus to my father’s house for I have five brothers in order that he may solemnly warn them and witness to them, so that they too will not come to this place of torment. But Abraham said, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them. He replied, No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent. And he said to him, If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead. HAVE YOU CHOOSEN?

“You Chose! Paradise or Hell”

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word, and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed from death into life. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, a time is coming and is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear it will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is a Son of Man qualifying Him to sit in judgment over mankind. Do not be surprised at this; for a time is coming when all those who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and they will come out-those who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and they will come out- those who did good things to a resurrection of life, but those who did evil things to a resurrection of judgment. WHAT HAVE YOU CHOOSEN?

“Be Steadfast and Patient”

So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of Lord. The farmer waits for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains. You too, be patient; strengthen your hearts, because the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain against one another, believers, so that you will not be judged. Look! The Judge is standing right at the door, as an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. You know we call those blessed who were steadfast and endured. You have heard of the patient endurance of Job and you have seen the Lord’s outcome. The Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. A COMMITTED CHOICE

But above all, my fellow believers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oat; but let your yes be yes, and no be no, so that you may not fall under judgment.

Therefore, return to your God, Observe and highly regard kindness and justice, and wait for your God continually.

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
