PASTOR JOHNSON'S 1ST SUNDAY MESSAGE 8.4.2019

"DO YOU THIRST! (FOR THE WORD OF GOD)"

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Deuteronomy 28:47-48, John 7:37-39, Mark 13:10-13, Revelation 7:9-17, and Luke 9:23, and Revelation 22:17.  The subject was DO YOU THIRST! (For the Word of God) with the following subtopics:

“Have Failed God”

You will become slaves to your enemies because of your failure to praise God for all that he has given you. The Lord will send your enemies against you, and you will be hungry, thirsty, naked, and in want of everything. A yoke of iron shall be paced around your neck until you are destroyed! (Are You Thankful???). I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, then you became proud and forgot me. So I will come upon you like a lion, or a leopard lurking along the road. I will rip you to pieces like a bear whose cubs have been taken away, and like a lion I will devour you.  (Have You forgotten where you came from???)

“Do You Thirst For God”

The time is surely coming, says the Lord God, when I will send a famine on the land-not a famine of bread or water, but hearing the words of the Lord. Men will wander everywhere from sea to sea, seeking the word of the Lord, searching, running here and going there, but will not find it. (Are You Thirsty for the Word of God????)

“Do You Here Jesus Calling”

On the last day, the climax of the holidays, Jesus shouted to the crowds, If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water shall flow from the inmost being of anyone who believes in me. He was speaking of the Holy Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him; but the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet returned to his glory in heaven. (How have You responded???)

“Can You Endure”

The gospel must first be preached to all the nations. When they take you and turn you over, do not worry beforehand about what to say, but say whatever is given to you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. Brother will betray brother to be put to death, and a father will hand over his child; and children will rise up and take a stand against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of your association with My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. (Can You Hold On???)

“A Multitude from the Tribulation”

After these things I looked, and this what I saw: a vast multitude which no one could count, from all the tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with a palm branches in their hands; and in a loud voice they cried out, saying Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb. (Are You Included???) Then one of the elders responded, saying to me, These who are dressed in the long white robes-who are they, and from where did they come? I said to him, My  Lord, you know. And he said to me, These are the people who come out of the great tribulation and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb because of His atoning sacrifice. For this reason, they are standing before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them and shelter and protect them. They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes. (

“When You Drink”

And He was saying to them all, If anyone wishes to follow Me, he must deny himself, and take up this cross daily and follow Me. The Holy Spirit and the bride (the church, believers) say, Come. And let the one who hears say, come. And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take and drink the water of life without cost. (Are You coming???)

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
