PASTOR JOHNSON'S 4TH SUNDAY MESSAGE 10.22.2017

CREATION, FALL, SALVATION

Pastor Johnson’s message came from Genesis 2:7, 16-17, 21-24, Genesis 3:3-16, and Romans 5:12-21.  The topic was “Creation, Fall, Salvation with the following sub topics:

“The Beginning”

Man became a living person or soul. God gave man a warning. Your conscience will open your eyes. It will make you aware of right or wrong. When you do wrong, you are not in God’s favor. But when you do right, you are in God’s favor. God took one of man’s ribs and made the rib into a woman and brought her to man. She became part of his own bone and he called her woman. The very act of intimacy between a man and woman make the two become one person. This can only happen between a man and a woman.

“Disobedience and Punishment”

The woman had the word and she knew the word but she still disobeyed God. The devil called God a lie. The devil told the woman, she will be just like God if she eats the fruit. The woman ate and gave it to man. They both had a choice just like we have a choice of right and wrong. Once they were aware of their nakedness, their conscience opened up; lust and desires took over. They were embarrassed from what was going on in their hearts. They hid from God. God asked Adam had he eaten from the tree I warned you about. God deals with us on an individual basis. The Lord started with the serpent that tricked them first. He punished the serpent. Next, he punished the woman with intense pain and suffering while bearing children; but she will still welcome her husband’s affection. Next, God issued punishment to Adam. He placed a curse upon the soil all his life.

 “The Salvation”

Adam’s sin caused sin to enter the entire human race. All have sinned. Adam brought death through sin and Christ brought forgiveness through God’s mercy. Adam’s sin brought punishment. Christ’s righteousness makes man right with God. We have the opportunity to repent everything each and every day we live. The more we see our sinfulness, the more we see God’s abounding grace forgiving us. God’s kindness rules now and give us right standing with God resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Read the scriptures and be blessed!
